Sometimes you hear about beauty product lines that are so bizarre and farfetched you figure they’re a fake- and then you learn they’re true. I share with you now- the Jackie Chan Organic Skin Care line. For REAL.
Yes, this line may not have made it to the UK but it does exist and was launched in 2007.
Here’s what he says about it;
The Jackie Chan Organic Skin Care line was introduced at Cosmoprof Asia, the largest and most prestigious international beauty trade event in Asia. Jackie and his business partner Maggie Chu joined forces to produce a line of skin care products which are completely organic. In keeping with Jackie’s history of preserving and protecting the environment, the products are composed of natural ingredients which are non-polluting and all packaging is made using recycled materials.
OK, I like the eco-stance on it- and very forward for 2007- but this makes me laugh really loud. I imagine Chan sweats a fair amount, so that woulsd lend him some credence but still.. would you buy skincare from a man who looks like this?
I like this introspection at strange celebrity beauty product lines, so think I’ll make this a feature!
I’m a massive fan of the Clarisonic skin cleansing brush as I find it more effective than washing with my own two hands. We all know that electric toothbrushes are more through- well the brush cleans deep dopwn and leaves you skin looking fresher and more refined. They’ve just realased a USA ersion of the Clarisonic Mia with a jaguar skin, whioch I think is nice. The plain white version might be more clinicval and ‘professional’ looking, but theses jaguar colours have a wider market appeal and add some colour yto the bathroom.
This set contains:
– Clarisonic Mia One Speed Brush
– International pLink™ charger for worldwide use
– Sensitive Brush Head
– 1.0 oz Gentle Hydro Cleanser
The rather lovely Mischa Barton has been pretty low profile lately, but we’ve just heard that she’s going to be the face of japanese brand Fenix. I don’t know much about the line, but I like her promo photo, even though her eyes have been soooo photoshopped. The promo shots launched yesterday in Japan, and I think she looks rather lovely. Will we get them on our shores? Unlikely. Continue reading
I recently rediscovered my love for Rge Rodial Glam Balm during a press jaunt to Berlin. First of all, it’s below 100ml so will mane it through security (I sobbed goodbye to my Nuxe lotion) and secondly it’s a great all purpose balm.
I apply it in air to keep skin soft and moisturised and it’s much less greasy than 8 hour cream. It doubles as a night moisturiser too, works well as a primer for foundation and will heal ragged cuticles in two days.
The texture is nice, with a silicone feel and absorbs quickly and it doesn’t aggravate oily skin. I’d say this is a must for anyone, and it really lasts a long time as you don’t need to use much.
BareMinerals are known for their high quality mineral foundation that sits on the skin like a veil (no surprise then that their best selling powder is called Mineral Veil: and it’s fabulous) so their foray into skincare isn’t a complete surprise.
Building on from their reputation of products that deliver they’ve created a range called bareMinerals Skincare and is designed to increase cell turnover, reduce lines and make you glow. How does it plan to do this?
Well, you get two cleansers, two moisturizer, one eye cream and one body cream. All are enriched with a complex extracted from ef cial macro and micro minerals that exist in nature. I don’t really know what that is, but the results sounds promising refined pores, extra luminosity and youthful skin.
The Purifying Facial Cleanser is what I’m most excited about- it will be £15 and contains Coconut-derived Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate and Coco-Glucoside, Pineapple, Lychee, Guava and Kiwi Fruit Enzymes, plus Oat and Apple Amino Acids, Avocado Oil, Pomegranate Extract… I know, a LOT of ingredients, all which sound eatable.
Out in April 2011, I thin Continue reading
There’s been a recent shift in the last few years for products that are more results focused and that’s exactly what First Aid beauty is about, packaged in clinical style bottles, the products all aim to treat different concerns, from ageing to acne and redness. The products are all infused with botanicals and are paraben free and also free from phthalates, alcohol, fragrances and artificial dyes.
I think they look very chic, and the low price point means it’s an affordable way for people to use products that work. Do they work though? I have yet to try them, but have my eyes on their creamy cleanser and eye Detox roller (which looks Garnier inspired: just saying…)
