Sam Edelam Sneak Peek A/W 2011
Category Archives: Pretty Palettes
Sleek MakeUP’s Limited Edition Mediterranean Collection fills we with excitement. I love the bright bold shades that will blend to give me a great summer look, the Santorini blush is a perfect juicy pink (which I keep calling Sangria.. must just have that on the brain) and there’ also a pretty Pout Polish in a glistening Monet Carlo shade, full of SPF15 and a sticky kissable allure that I love.
The prized possession must be the MONACO i-DIVINE, 12 piece eyeshadow palette full of scorching shades.. They’re pleasantly muted, and whilst some (the purples and green) add vibrancy, much of the selection c=gives you neutral with a twist- and their famous black shade is in there to make lining the eyes a doddle.
Wedding season is upon us and diaries are full of engagements, overblown do’s and spending way too much money in train fare. Thew Urban Decay Bridesmaids kit (in conjunction with the Judd Apatow movie) has everything a stressed out maid of honour needs.
“As a beauty brand, we thought this partnership would be a fun way to delve into the bridal market, especially because so many of our customers ask for bridal looks,” said Wende Zomnir, co-founder and creative director of Urban Decay Cosmetics.
Have I mentioned yet that I love Benefit Cosmetics? No? Then let me tell you how much I adore this quirky brand, with products that WORK and uber kitsch packaging. The Finding Mr Bright set combines the best out of their brightening products. You get the great ‘Girl Meets Pearl’ which I love for a subtle flush, a mini Hugh Beam- the product for luminous collarbones ans cheeks, Erase Paste for concealing and Posie Tint for a pretty pink flush.

Bobbi Brown has just released her latest collection and it’s a lush looking affair with deep mauve, rich purples and sexy silver. It was created in collaboration with Tibi, and is a whimsical playful array of colours that make me think of unicorns and meadows with twinkly lights. Look, you know just what I mean- it’s girly chic with an edge, femininity with a hint of magic, and purple, purple, unashamedly purplicious!
This is what Bobbi says about the collection:
‘The pinks and purples in this collection are inspired by peonies, my favourite flower. Peonies are lush, decadent and delicate — just like the colours in the limited palette.I’ve also incorporated grey, a colour that was big on the runways this season. A great neutral, it’s totally versatile and a cool counterpoint to pink. And because I love accessories just as much as the next girl, I asked Tibi to design a makeup case to match.’
Get the companion set for £68 (it has a pretty blush, liner and gloss)
Naturally everything is limited edition: Yes, I do love that!

Pupa isn’t a brand you hear very much about nowadays. This could be becauses they’re concentrating on their overseas clients, but I feel that’s a shame, especially when we get makeup palettes/ornaments that are as decorative as this. The Pupa Milano Angel Globe looks like it should be dangling from the Christmas tree, and is filled with bright Duplo-esuqe colours.
I’m not sure I love the colour selection, but you get a huge amount of choice, with lips catered to as well:
- compact blush
- 3 compact ultra-bright eyeshadows
- 1 applicator for eye products
- 4 shiny lipcolours
- 7 cream lipcolours
- 2 lip glosses with glitter
That’s a lot of product! Sure, you may never use it, but I barely use any of my palettes, I just admire the pretty colour combos and designs on the lid. Continue reading
