Somehow the fact that MAC occasionally does limited edition scents has escaped me, but I’m excited about the upcoming Turquatic fragrance.
The word combo makes me think of turquoise, aqua and excitement, and whilst I have NO idea what turquouse smells like, aqua should be light and breezy, and the MAC brand is bound to make it full of sparks.
The scent is crisp and fresh- they’ve blended mineral water through lotus leaves and added some anemone, orris and blue cedar for sweet light notes- perhaps the faintest hint of musk? Sounds like a nice light scent for summer and I like the bottle- looks like a grown up version of Cool Water- and another excuse to hit MAC up.
Date scheduled for release is August 11th in the USA.
The folks over at BellaSugar have the lowdown on something very exciting- a beauty blogger/ MAC makeup mashup. The Beauty blogging world goes kerazzy over MAC stuff, so it’s only fair they now get to share just why they love it so. A super secret trip saw 10 elite bloggers (Temptalia, obv) head over to MAC HQ for testing and trialling and a range of limited edition loveliness will be coming our way soon.
Will it have the charm of MAC Fafi or the collectability of Hello Kitty? I loved MAC Heatherette, personally… Continue reading

MAC have been doing some cool stuff on the makeup front lately. They’ve had their cool Wonder Woman/ Foursquare giveaway, the Quite Cute collection, which I’m less than thrilled with and the forthcoming Prep and Prime Collection which sounds brilliant. I can now reveal some cool new artwork for their new collections (cos who doesn’t love their pictures?) for you to ogle.
I can also tell you that April will see the release of The Bronze Everyday MAC range which will feature a Skinsheen Leg Spray (£21) and four new shades of Bronzing Powder (£17.50), plus extra bronzing products. Well, summer is coming!

MAC knows it’s a powerhouse in terms of trend, so it’s a bit of a disappointment when it chooses to go down the safe ‘summer trend colour’ route rather than give us the products we crave. The MAC Quite Cute range is ‘quite nice’, bit it’s not a wow, melt your mouth, slip on your own drool type of range, the way that the Hello Kitty MAC collection or the Wonder Woman MAC collection was. The lilac lippies are pretty pretty, the mint green varnish is rather lush looking, but all could EASILY be dupes of OPI Pirates odf the Caribbean or any of the gadzillion Orly varnish colours that exist. Don’t even get me started on MAC nail varnish quality… The only ray of light is that the lippies might be highly pigmented, but as they’re called ‘Quite Cute’, I’m thinking fairly sheer is a safe guess.
The MAC Quite Cute range features the following: Pastel shades for Eye Quads, Lipstick, Plushglass, Nail Lacquer and three Lip Pencil shades.
What I am excited about though is the (can’t show you pics yet as embargoed sorry) Primed For Perfection range which has a Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye, that targets pigmentation, visibly weakened capillaries and shadowing. This looks good, and I’m hoping this will be my beauty solution to those awful hungover bags that keep appearing. Both collections are out in April, prices quoted at £9-£33.
MAC Cosmetics are always groundbreaking so it’s no surprise that they’re up to date with the latest in social networking- we’re talking geolocation baby. They’ve teamed up with Foursquare to offer a FREE MAC Wonder Woman POW ring to people who check in to various MAC concessions. Everyone who checks in gets a page of limited edition MAC Wonder Woman stickers from the counter girls (while stocks last) and some of theme reveal a winning message (about 30 per store) that get you a free MAC Wonder Woman POW ring. If all fails, at least you have the cool stickers. Continue reading
