MAC knows it’s a powerhouse in terms of trend, so it’s a bit of a disappointment when it chooses to go down the safe ‘summer trend colour’ route rather than give us the products we crave. The MAC Quite Cute range is ‘quite nice’, bit it’s not a wow, melt your mouth, slip on your own drool type of range, the way that the Hello Kitty MAC collection or the Wonder Woman MAC collection was. The lilac lippies are pretty pretty, the mint green varnish is rather lush looking, but all could EASILY be dupes of OPI Pirates odf the Caribbean or any of the gadzillion Orly varnish colours that exist. Don’t even get me started on MAC nail varnish quality… The only ray of light is that the lippies might be highly pigmented, but as they’re called ‘Quite Cute’, I’m thinking fairly sheer is a safe guess.
The MAC Quite Cute range features the following: Pastel shades for Eye Quads, Lipstick, Plushglass, Nail Lacquer and three Lip Pencil shades.
What I am excited about though is the (can’t show you pics yet as embargoed-sorry) Primed For Perfection range which has a Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye, that targets pigmentation, visibly weakened capillaries and shadowing. This looks good, and I’m hoping this will be my beauty solution to those awful hungover bags that keep appearing. Both collections are out in April, prices quoted at £9-£33.
